Orange Juice Debacle

My first post, what is this blog about? "The New Americans" this was a term I used about 12 years ago in a short essay I was writing in my notebook. It was about how the Constitution and the bill of rights are still very effective and relevant, how the words written over 200 years ago can still govern the land effectively only if we followed it. The same issues seem to challenge the constitution but through persistence and humanity, the majority seems to find a way to be able to do what is right for our country, all of this is possible because we all swore as Americans to uphold and agree to these words. I've had arguments before about the fact that slave owners wrote our Constitution, it's true they did, but just like we live today with crimes being committed around us, humans don't seem to realize the atrocities they're committing once they're engulfed in it, it takes a lot of time before the masses are convinced and action is taken. I look around me, I observe my American life and I'm disturbed by a lot of things that are accepted as normal, I'm guilty of this as well, mostly because I'm not sure what to do. Everything from the food I eat, to entertainment, to transportation, healthcare, it goes on and on. I go to the store to get orange juice and I'm faced with so many questions, are any of these cartons actually filled with the juice of an orange? why the hell is this so sweet? how is it possible for orange juice to have an expiration date of two months from now? I know the answer to most of these questions, the answer is this is an orange juice type product, not really orange juice. So I go to the "organic" section where the orange juice is $7 for the same volume as the scary juice,  I can't possibly spend $50 with of orange juice in one month, that's ridiculous. So I end up with the tropicana, yuck. I'm sure most of you have gone through the same thing, I don't think this is right, but damn I can't wait until my own tree is full grown so I can squeeze out my own damn juice to ensure that I'm not being poisoned. I wish I can trust that the food I'm consuming isn't poisoning me, it's not much to ask as a citizen, but this is where we are right now. So where do I start? I don't know, I'm writing I guess, that's all I can do right now.
